New Artist Workshop-Feb. 1, 2009
Signups are underway for a fun, exciting new workshop which incorporates digital photos, altered digital images and combining them into a work of art, using a variety of supplies that you may, or may not have used in your work before.
There are two things that are an absolute must to participate in this workshop, a digital camera and altering software, such as PhotoShop Elements.
The fee to participate is only $10 which must be paid before you are invited to join the established private workshop group. Payment can be made, via PayPal, using the button provided in the following post. This fee covers February's workshop only.
This first workshop of 2009 consists of 3 assignments, "Out in the Field", "Manipulations" and "Composition". Each assignment is mandatory to complete the next assignment. This is a structured workshop with deadlines for completition. I will be available on a daily basis to answer any questions or give you some suggestions, depending on what it is we are currently working on. This whole workshop is geared to learn: about using your camera to take landscape photos in sharp focus, how to eliminate color and make line drawings in your altering software, how to further enhance your altered image and how to enhance your work with some creative ideas, ready for framing. I have been working with a new original technique that I hope will inspire you to further experiment. I will share with you my results and I think you will be amazed at the variety of textures that is produced.
The photo posted here, is one I took a few days ago to illustrate sharp focus. I am not concerned about colorful photos for this first lesson. Notice the sharpness of every single leaf on the tree, down to the grain of the wood to the right of the feed bin. This only takes a few settings on your digital camera and some insight that you will learn with the very first assignment.
